MONUMENT ENGLAND SAILORS
Time for rememberance
The bronze statue called Freedom Forward is a memorial to all the people who tried to get to England from the Netherlands by sea during the Second World War.
If you walk along the boulevard in Katwijk, you will see the monument to the England sailors at a striking spot in the dunes.
In Noordwijk, a museum about the England sailors has been set up in the former ammunition bunker of the Anlantikwall, a long line of defense that Germany built in occupied areas during the Second World War to prevent an Allied invasion.
